Hey fellas, I was just looking for confirmation that I’m not being a big dummy head and forgetting something important here. Could someone let me know if everything checks out in terms of compatibility?

I have everything except the CPU, cooler and motherboard, but some of the other stuff is returnable. This is sort of half of my old PC as well. Coming from 6600k and 1070 build.

Thank you for any input!

The compatibility is appropriate, albeit with the possibility that the B550 motherboard isn't compatible with the 5000 series processor.

However, the chances are very small because B550 was produced/released very shortly before the release of 5000 series.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

I have a flash drive with the bios for it at the ready, and I made sure it has the bios flashback button. As far as I know that should do the trick, but thanks for mentioning it because I might not have known 🙂

That SSD is overpriced. If you are just gaming then the WD Blue SN550 is cheaper, or the HP EX950 for an extra $20ish.

The Corsair 200R is meh. I would get something more modern like a Fractal Meshify C or Phanteks P300A/P400A etc.

So something like this:

I completely agree with you, but this is just my old case I've had for a few years. I'll be grabbing a new one in a bit, just not right off the bat.

hold up, this is great, but hold up, when was that motherboard made, because depending on the manufacturing date, that could maybe not be compatible with that cpu

Won't be compatible out of the box, but it'll let me update the BIOS without the CPU installed first with USB so no problem.
