Overheating

cre8tivename

Hey guys

I just built my first pc.

Everytime I start it up and go into the bios my cpu temp starts rapidly climbing to 80+ degrees C and no sign of stopping, this worries me because I installed a 280mm BeQuiet pure loop and all fans run on maximum RPM, so it shouldnt even be that hot under High loads right?

During Windows Install it crashed due to Overheating

Any Ideas whats going on?

Some specs:

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600XT

Motherboard: Aorus B450I Pro Wifi (ITX)

Case: Coolermaster NR200

AIO: BeQiet 280mm Pure loop (installed on the side panel position with fans in Pull-Setup pulling in the air from Outside)

Top Fans. 2xBeQuiet Silentwings 3 120mm 2200rpm pulling air out of the case

Gpu: Aourus 1080Ti

PSU: 850w Coolermaster V SFX

 voltage is 1Volt

Did you apply thermal paste?
If so, can you remount the cooler please? It sounds like a bad cooler mount.

I will also try reversing the fans (air in from top, out at the side)

No, leave the fans as exhaust.

Setting them as intakes is not great for airflow.

80C at idle is no good and means there is something seriously wrong.

- Check thermal compound application

- See if the CPU block is properly mounted and there is good contact between the processor and the block

- Make sure all connectors, both for the fans and the CPU pump are plugged in properly and all of these components are actually working. Most AIO coolers have distinct pump wine.

- If all of the above is in order then the AIO could faulty and you will need to RMA it.

The Problem apparently solved itself overnight, when i started it just now, the temps were fine (26c), but thanks for the help still !

Good to know. If something like this happens again, you know the troubleshooting steps. 🙂
