I'm using an old  viewsonic va2212 monitor until i can get a new monitor , it has 2 output options including VGA and DVI .
for the last couple of months i was using the VGA port on the monitor end and hooking it up with a HDMI to VGA adapter to connect it to 1660s.
i got an Amazon basics DVI to HDMI2.0 cable today to hook up the monitor with it , my monitor shows the boot sequence but as it just about to load windows it will go blank and nothing else.

Also my monitor detect that the DVI port is in use.
thanks in advance.

I would suggest you to get some way to get into the screen(remoting into it), while the monitor is still connected via the adapter. Once you are there, you can check the settings for the monitor in Windows Display settings and check if the resolution for the monitor is correct. Adapters(atleast in my experience) sometimes cause Windows to default to a wrong resolution, causing the display to not display anything. I had a similar experience once when using an HDMI to VGA adapter, where the laptop did detect the monitor but had defaulted it to a wrong resolution. The monitor could detect signal but was black.

I would suggest you to Chrome Remote Desktop. Its easy to setup. Then(connect the monitor with the adapter over here) you can easily remote into your computer from your mobile with the app and then follow the steps mentioned earlier(checking the resolution).

I am getting pretty fucking sick and tired of the "watch something else" responses. It's such a cop out answer because you could say that about basically anything, and it doesn't address the actual complaints. People use it as some kind of card they pull when they can't actually respond to the criticism raised but they still feel like they need to defend some company/person. If you don't like this thread then stop reading it. See how stupid it is? It's basically like telling someone "shut the fuck up". It's not a clever responsive, it doesn't address anything said, and it is rude.

MKBHD is but an Apple propagandist and fanboy. Take his videos with a grain of salt, especially about anything Apple. In his video titled "I Visited Apple's Secret iPhone Testing Labs!", he has shown that he makes no effort to fact check Apple's claims, and takes it at face value. I do not believe he can be trusted as an Reviewer/Influencer.

I have tried the mentioned method "currently remoting from my phone" , but everything seems to be just fine , checked both the resolution and device manager if there is any hardware changes but windows didn't report anything back while my screen is still black.

something interesting i'd like to share , after rebooting this time i tried to fiddle with the monitor built menu , up until the msi logo and just before windows loads i was able to switch between tabs up and down then at the moment windows loads up it goes blank and the monitor software disappears without being able to open it again.

When you get to the black screen, and your system seems to be done loading. Hit Win+P on your keyboard twice and hit Enter. Then wait 5sec. If nothing shows up, repeat a second time.

Typically, when this happens, the GPU drivers thinks that there is still a monitor connected to the VGA port. Windows Login screen supports only 1 screen, the primary one, which the GPU drivers is telling Windows that it is the VGA one, despite nothing connected there. So, as Windows Logon screen only supports 1 display, the primary one, as mentioned, all secondary displays show black.

The mentioned keyboard shortcuts switches your display configurations. Normally, if you could see the screen, a menu will show up. As you can see it, Hitting Win+P twice will switch mode, one after another. You'll eventually fall onto "External Screen Only" and you'll see an image on your screen. Once you login, you open your graphics card drivers panel and fix the layout properly.
