Testing GPU

Hi guys, I have an 1660 in build currently. We brought my little brother a second hand 1060 for his first PC build but we need to test in my PC due to the fact he doesn't have a power supply yet. Is it as simple as taking my 1660 out and plugging the 1060 in or should I take any precautionary measures Eg. installing 1060 drivers? (Will this affect my PC when I put the 1660 back in?)

You can just swap them. You may need to reinstall Nvidia driver when you pop the 1060 in (windows may not realize it already has a driver), but that’s just normal driver instal. If you want, you can use DDU to remove the old driver, but isn’t necessary.
