Hello i have recently rebuilt my secondary computer into a storage server when doing so I reinstalled windows 7 and now it say 2gb ram installed only 1 usable ive tried going into msconfig and changing the maximum memory to 2048 mb but that had no success

All the ram was working before i reinstalled windows.

pc specs if needed are

Asus :M4A78LT-M LE

AMD: Athlon II X2 255 (3.10 GHz)

Gskill: 1gb x2 kit (1333 mhz)

and lots of harddrives

Windows 7 32bit

Integrated Graphics, probably a windows set amount. Same with my laptop, installed extra memory to get a usable amount.

 

Edit: Actually you can set the reserved amount lower if you want to in the bios, will be listed under shared memory or something like that.

If it says that, usually only Starter edition uses only 1 GB... 32b uses 3, and 64 can use as much as you can throw at it.
