Do you need a full ATX PSU or do you have and SFX-l PSU

How many PCIe extension slots do you need (WIFI, GPU, Ethernet, USB and etc)

Agreed.

I'm sure you'll be able to find something a little smaller in terms of volume but the 280x is a cracking case.

Dual compartment, full atx PSU support, will fit any GPU and has support for multiple rads if your into water cooling.

The o11 Mini might also be a contender.....

Best I could find with a quick browse

Lian-Li have a range of HTPC cassis that might fit the bill but they're bloody expensive.

I have the ITX PC-05 but i think the 06 and above are mATX

you're going to have to actually give some idea of what you want.

You said 'shortest' and that case is as short as you're going to get, since it's only slightly taller than the motherboard itself will be.

Not everyone's idea of 'small' is the same.

Also, 'small' and 'practical' aren't always the same.

Here's the smallest mATX I can think of:

https://smile.amazon.com/Supermicro-SuperChassis-CSE-502L-200B-Black-Support/dp/B002WZFM9A/ref=sr_1_37?dchild=1&keywords=Micro+ATX+rackmount+case&qid=1614954140&refinements=p_n_feature_six_browse-bin%3A2057507011&rnid=2057420011&s=pc&sa-no-redirect=1&sr=1-37

but it's not practical as an actual use case.
