Front Panel USB Issues

Hi guys,

 

Whenever I plug an external USB hard disk into my front panel USB port, USB connectivity on other devices appears to suffer, most notably with wireless devices such as keyboards and mice requiring me to move closer to the dongle for them to work.

 

This isn't specific to a single system and re-creatable on different PC that I own.

 

The wireless / BT dongle that ends up suffering is usually connected to the 2nd front panel port and apart from that dongle and an XBOX wireless receiver, that's all I have in terms of USB devices.

 

As soon as I remove the USB HD, everything works perfectly.

 

Any ideas?

Either the HDD's cable or the USB cables in the case are poorly shielded.
