Budget (including currency): as low as possible and as high as needed (very specific build)

Country: Germany

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: pretty much only Prepar 3d

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Hi everyone!

I have a very special challenge to master.

I want to build a Flight Sim using an existing cockpit and P3D.

To this point I used a 1000€ pc from HP wich could handle up to 3 displays at once using it's GTX 1660.

Now the cockpit has 6 displays all together (VGA) and I need another display (preferably a TV screen) for the visual outside.

The possibility of hooking another PC up via network connection is given. SOOO.

My approach would be building a secondary PC that has 3 graphics cards with at least 1 native VGA port each.

First of all: Is this possible without SLI or Crossfire?

There will be very little to no stress on the system because this would only be used to run the screens in the cockpit showing gauges and parameters of all sorts.

The real work would still be done on the GTX 1660 rig running the visual and main simulation.

Secondly I would like to know if there are any budged options for a build like that because I would assume there would be at least 2 if not 3 pcie 16x slots needed and most mobos offering that are on the more expensive side I'm afraid.

I looked up some parts that might get the job done:

GPU: 3x 2GB MSI GeForce GT 710 LP Passiv PCIe 2.0 x16 (Retail)

CPU: Intel Core i3 10100F 4x 3.60GHz So.1200 BOX

MOBO: ASUS PRIME Z490-A

Like I said it just needs to get the job done runing like 6 different (VGA) very low resolution panels yet I dind't want to go too low on the CPU because in the end it needs to run the sim (cropped down) too.

the minimum specs for P3D are:

  • Dual Core processor, running at 2.2 GHz.
  • 4 GB RAM.
  • 2GB Grapics Card Video Memory (DX11 compatible)

Building the system on my own is not a problem it wouldn't be the first one (well at least with 3 gpus it is)

Thanks in advance I'm looking forward to your suggestions.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Maybe you guys know a better way to run that many screens?
