Issues with different refresh rate monitors using the same GPU

I remember when i had one main monitor on 75 hz and a second on 60hz, content on the first would constantly stutter when animations were happening on the 60hz one. I was told it was cause of the refresh rate difference and have since set them both to 70 and my issue is gone. Im now considering getting a 144hz monitor, will i experience similar issues? Ive heard people recommend using double the refresh rate of your other monitor so 70 and 140. Can anyone confirm this as a valid solution?

I don't know much about displays, but that seems like it would work. The GPU should be able to work out thats its a different refresh rate, and because it can just put every other frame on the 70hz one, I feel like that should work. But again, I'm no expert.
