Really? Oh well, I can do that no problem, I've got a key lying around somewhere.

You don't HAVE to but you REALLY should reinstall to avoid driver issues especially if switching between Intel and AMD or vice versa.

Hey everyone,

I'm gonna be upgrading my PC for the first time ever and I'll be swapping out the motherboard and CPU for a newer model. Is there anything to this beyond physically replacing the parts or do I have to do things with drivers and such as well? I know that for GPUs you're supposed to run DDU so I was wondering if there's something like that for CPUs/mobos as well.

Thanks in advance!

Well yes, you need to reinstall windows if you switch your mobo.
