I suffer from extremely sweaty hands all the time. I plan on wearing some latex medical gloves to not get skin oil/sweat smudges on the components.

 

Are there any inherent risk of static discharge happening?

From the gloves? Shouldn't be a problem. You should be grounding yourself anyway if you're working with delicate components.

I would suggest going with Nitrile gloves instead of Latex. More comfortable, resistant, and anti-static by nature.

I recommend getting a ESD mat with ESD Strap + Grounding Alligator clip wire to the mat itself.  Plus gloves are good for two things.  One to avoid getting cut up working on PCs + sweating/dirt/dust/etc.
