Rivatuner + Nvidia Vsync?

I've just learned about frame times and using Rivatuner to cap/scanline sync, but in The Witcher 3, Borderlands 2 and probably more older games I see a HEAVY screen tear in the middle of my screen for Borderlands 2. On the other hand in The Witcher 3 I used scanline sync to shove the screen tear somewhat off the screen but it is still present. I've been thinking of using Nvidia Adaptive sync or Fast sync for all my games including present titles like Modern Warfare 2019, Black Ops: Cold War, Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal. What I'm trying to figure out is if I can use Nvidia's Adaptive or Fast sync and disable scanline sync completely for it just doesn't work in all games for me. But instead cap the framerate in Rivatuner and still have the benefit of good frame times and no screen tearing. I'm using a 1660 super and a i5 9600k if this helps at all. Thanks in advance.
