My cpu stays at 100% and my gpu stays around 40-50% while playing some games and it causes my games to drop to super low frames and then it picks Back up. This causes a freeze and sometimes it’ll freeze for a few seconds and this is at any graphics settings. I play at 1440p 144hz and I usually can’t keep my frames stable in any game no matter my settings. Can anyone tell me how I can fix this? I’m open to upgrading my hardware if needed I just don’t know what I should upgrade to fix this. I’m runningan intel i5-9400f processor and a gtx 1660 super with 32gb of Gskill RAM. This was a rebuilt I bought from Walmart (probably a bad start already)

the lack of hyperthreading on that i5 cpu is probably the cause. not much you can do, apart from changing the cpu.

you could in the meantime try to increase the details in the games, so you'll shift more load on the cpu. the average fps will be lower, but less stuttery
