Windows 10 blank icon taskbar

With one of the applications I use the taskbar icon appears blank. The application is called Git Kraken and I've not had any response from their support and I haven't encountered anyone else with this issue.

 

If I right click and pin Git Kraken to the task bar and then unpin it the icon comes back and stays until I close or right click it on the taskbar.

 

This problem, while not effecting work, is very frustrating and I've tried a number of things to fix it like clearing icon caches, restarting the file explorer and deleting temporary files etc.

 

Does anyone have any other suggestions for this?

I'm reopening this topic because I found a solution to help those who still have this problem.

1. Right click on the Gitkraken icon in the taskbar.

2. Then right click on the title of Gitkraken and select the "Properties" option.

3. Click the "Change Icon" button.

4. Indicate here the path to your gitkraken.exe file (mine was : C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\gitkraken\app-x.x.x
