1+8 Battery

Just got 1+8. Been tinkering with it for an hour.
Installed apps and downloaded 2.8gb update. And my battery is 40% from 59 out of the box

Is this normal or should charge fully first?
Is the battery not calibrated or something, or 90Hz screen is using it?

My current phone is Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite so battery wise OnePlus has smaller one.

downloading and installing apps is probably the most battery intensive thing you can do on a phone, dont make any assumptions about a phone's battery life until you've done your normal day-to-day workload for a week.
