You really SHOULD set a budget. Audiophiles are crazy. Really crazy. Think $100,000+ to kit out a home theater.

Heh... and the rest.

Hey all, im thinking about getting some speakers for my setup, i have nice setup right now, clean with no wires on the table and nothing is on the desk. I am looking for the best and the most seamless speakers. Can you guys help? There is no budget

You should have a budget. I could recommend anything from some small Edifier's for 400~ dollars all the way up to my MBL loudspeakers. We also need a feature set you would like, such as Bluetooth, Balanced input etc.

LTT's Resident Porsche fanboy and nutjob Audiophile.

Main speaker setup is now;

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)

There is no budget

You'd be surprised @TelosHD at how much speakers can end up costing.. Like, some speakers (usually not "desktop") can end up costing as much as a house. So.. everyone has a budget. Unless your name is Jeff and your surname is Bezos.

So, what's the budget?

Also, sound is SUBJECTIVE, so even if we were to recommend something on a limitless budget you might end up linking something completely different.

Well, you said NO BUDGET, so I'll give you my recommendations:

The best I've heard (and I've heard quite a lot by now) are made by Quested monitoring systems over in the UK. If you can live with having a separate power amplifier and want the best midrange clarity available, go get a pair of H108s and an MC2 S800 to drive them.

If you want active monitors and want something that handles bass a little better, the V2108 is an updated version of what I use day-to-day. It uses the same custom Volt 8" woofer and Morel MDT30 tweeter as the H108, but the cabinet is tuned for a lower frequency.

If size is a big concern, the V2104 is a neat little option. I haven't heard it, but I would trust it to sound excellent- this is a company that knows how to design a good speaker.

If budget DOES matter (you lied), then the S series is a little less expensive. Lots of people rave about the midrange on the S7, and the S8 uses a Volt LF driver.

I've compared the Questeds to a pair of the higher-end Elacs (BS203.2s and a pair of 510s) that use the JET air motion transformer tweeter, and IMO the Questeds beat them. The Volt woofers used in the higher end Questeds are really something special. Not cheap, but IMO they're something really special.

Quested is also very good about standing behind their products. If you have an issue, they WILL do whatever they can to help you solve it, even 10 years down the road.
