So I was recently overclocking my fx-8320 processor and I was running into a few issues. The main one being when I run intel burn test or prime95 my computer doesn't crash, but rather freeze or just restart (as in black screen and back to bios logo). When I don't run these tests though I'm perfectly fine. I was testing with things like rendering a video in sony vegas, or playing more CPU-intensive games like arma 2, minecraft, or DayZ. I'm really just wondering why these lockups happen when I run these programs. I'd like to get as much as I can out of this cpu so can anyone help with what I could overclock it to in my case?

My specs are:

AMD fx-8320 @4.5ghz, 1.44v, 210mhz Bus Speed, 21.5 multiplier

Msi 970a-g43

8gb ddr3 1066

AMD R9 270x

Corsair H100 Liquid Cooler

(Voltage is low in the screenshot, only because I'm idle)

recommend starting on a lower overclock, and then see if the same thing happens. you may just have a bad chip, and in that case try starting on 4,0GHz
