I've got a Steelseries 6Gv2, which I love, but I want to try other switches out, because I'm not a massive fan of Cherry MX Blacks.

I'm looking for a keyboard with brown switches, preferably not 10 keyless, no backlights or lit keys, and a simple and plan looking design (like the 6Gv2). Any suggestions?

Alternatively, could I just buy some brown switches and replace them in my current keyboard?

i think you can yes, not sure where tho.

otherwise Coolermaster has a bunch of kinda plain keyboards, and corsair and so on, just go to the site you look at and look at all of them :)

oh and all the backlit keyboards near always have it so you can turn it off

I personally just got a Corsair K70 Cherry MX Red, and let me say that this is the first mechanical keyboard ever, and I love it.

I did a little post on my first time using a mechanical keyboard.  http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/122444-first-time-using-a-mechanical-keyboard-my-opions/

WASD Keyboards are nice. You can get them plain without backlights if you want, they look really nice.

EDIT: I personally really like their stealth type keyboards.

Thanks for your replies guys. I really like the look of the WSAD keyboards, but I've never heard of them before. What is their build quality like? Also, I've been looking at 10 keyless a lot and I'm wondering if anyone that works with numbers a lot has managed to transition to a 10 keyless?

Thanks, I think I'm going to get the tenkeyless one since it's a lot cheaper.
