RAM Speed - Support Question

Go to solution Solved by Xyed,

Enabling XMP will boost the ram to 3600MHz yes.

Sugestion: Enable XMP after you install windows and updates to reduce any stability issues.

CL14 is better then CL 16 so yeah.

Hey everyone.

First time poster here. Looking for some advice on RAM, an area I don't have much of an education on.

I'm building a new gaming rig and previously I've used 32GB 2666mhz CL16 RAM, now this is fine but this year I'd like to sacrifice capacity for speed as I don't really need 32GB.

The RAM I've purchased is VENGEANCE® LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3600MHz C14 AMD Ryzen Memory Kit - Black

This will go into a X570 Asus mobo with a 5800X CPU.

My question is: If I just slot the RAM in and enable XMP will I get 3600MHz as advertised on the box?

Also, I see the sweet spot for Rysen is 3600MHz CL16. Would CL14 still be ok? Not to bothered about cost/performance, just looking for performance.

Thanks in advance.

I'm in the UK so many of the 3600MHz RAM sticks are CL17 - 18. Quite difficult to find 3600 CL14 here in the UK. Hence I had to purchase direct from Corsair. I was going to go AIO water cooling so RAM profile didn't matter. I like Corsair so didn't mind which profile I picked up from them. Not a fan of RGB too to be honest.

Thanks for the assistance Xyed.
