First time ever making a forum post in anyway so hope this goes well.

Lets get straight to the point on this one, I'm looking for anyone who might be able to help me solve this issue I'm having with my ram. Have to say this has been going on for so long I cant remember when it first started at this point. But here's the run down. My computer shows that its using a larger amount of ram but task manager doesn't say on what and when I added all the ram totals it only added up to about 2.5 GB of ram usage but task shows that I am using over 14GB. This happens as soon as I start my computer, even after restarts it will be around 6 ~ 8GB in use then steadily rise to 12 ~ 21GB.

My computer Specs:

Processor: Intel Core I7-6800K (not overclocked)

Motherboard: MSI X99A Gaming pro carbon

Memory

 -Original was 2x8GB DDR4 3000 XPG Adata

 -Replace is 4x8GB DDR4 3200 XPG Adata

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 480 8GB

PS: 800W 80 plus (figured to add this)

I should note that the memory issue happened prior to this but I still had to mention it anyway. Back in October I came home for a week from college leaving my computer off for that time away. When I returned I started it, loaded up google and YouTube to watch a video and heard a very loud pop followed by everything freezing. My only option was to shutdown the computer and restart it. As I did this the computer would start for about 5 to 10 seconds before automatically shutting down and then automatically starting back up. It would repeat this indefinitely also wouldn't display anything on screen either (not getting to windows boot or bios). I decided to take a look at what the motherboard error codes were in a hope to figure it out. Because I've never done that before I was a bit confused to see numbers that didn't match the error codes in the motherboard manual. So after reading the manual and looking online the only thing I did was toggle a small switch on the board and re seeded the memory. Still nothing happened. I left the computer there unplugged for about 20 minutes while I was looking for any fixes online. I gave up and just started the computer anyway and for no reason that I could think of booted and has been working since. I don't think this could have changed anything but the problem existed before this and after as well.

One other thing to mention that someone might think is the computer working fine and maybe its just a bug or error on task manger. And I can surely say that its not the case. Even while writing this my words are being frozen for a few seconds before appearing which doesn't always happen. Playing games also has weird freezing that occurs every few seconds. Happens on everything and isn't always consistent either. Its just random when and for how long.

Things I have tired to fix this issue include:

-Windows Updates

-Troubleshooting (Shows no errors)

-Running repair diagnostic through CMD (shows no errors)

-Changing the Ram on the motherboard for new Ram (Issue still occurred)

-Checking Viruses or other bugs. (My antivirus doesn't fine anything however it does say that there are hardware problems even though the diagnostic doesn't find anything)

-Disabling zombie programs (did work for a few hours then slowly returned back to the same problem)

I have attached screen shots of task manger and the zombie process tool. I don't know much on zombie processes so if anyone does let me know, I get the jest but still. If there is anything that I might need to add in the future that I might not have had here just let me know.

In advance thanks to anyone that read this.

I guess its just windows getting old and messed up. Do some maintenance:

* Delete programs you don't need

* Delete/stop unnecessary services

* Check what is running on start up

* Run a virus scan but when its done delete/stop it

* Debloat windows and kill telemetry

How much Ran your PC uses when you 1st turn?  Mine uses just 1gb or 1.2gb

I can give that a try. Really I'll take anything just to find out what's causing it. And when I start up the computer its around 6gb or higher. then progressly gets higher even if I don't have anything running

6gb for a PC that has just booted is too much
