Encrypt HDD Help

Trying to encrypt an external HDD with Veracrypt. I have to choose the partion which to encrypt. For some reason it shows the HDD has 2 partions, one only 16MB. Don't know why and where this is from because the drive is empty. So can I select the entire disk or do I have to be cautious with the 16MB partion (partion 1 in the disk) and choose partion 2 with the almost entire storage of the HDD?

What brand is the external drive?

You could repartition the HDD and then Encrypt the entire things

For some reason Windows Disk Management shows the Drive completely empty though. Only in Veracrypt is says there is a 16MB partition in the disk.

That's probably reserved for something then I'd presume. 16MB isn't very big so I wouldn't really worry about it.
