Greetings fellow techies!

 

I have to decide what to buy, and i'm really in doubt. Because i really want both, but i can only afford one of them atm. So which one would you choose?

 

I've always said that the moment the DevKit 2 gets out, i will order it. But i would also like to boost my games on my 1440p monitor by upgrading my 670 to a 290. (leaning towards the DirectCU ii)

 

Oculus = 504 $ (with shipping and tax)

R9 290 DirectCU ii = 556 $

It would depend on whether your current performance is satisfactory or not. If so, get the Occulus. If not, get the performance you can't deal with not having.

The performance is not bothering me thaaat much, so i might pick up the dev kit. thx ;)

I say DevKit 2 but that 670 will likely have some difficulty running two 960x180 panels.

I believe it's a single 960x1080 panel.

Nope, there's two 960x1080p screens, really it's just a 1080p screen but halved for both eyes.

I just realized that they will start shipping the DevKit2 in July 2014... 

 

I will probably go for the 290.
