IRC Chat Linux noobs

Ive switched over to linux on my netbook but its a bit of a learning curve. I would like a good IRC chat that is friendly to "linux noobs" Any suggestions?

There are channels for most linux distros, and open source software on Freenode.

Note a lot of main distro channels are quite strict though. Just remember, be clear and concise with what you are saying, log files USSR the appropriate paste site, same with images (some channels have preferences)

There will be a lot of users overlapping channels so stick to one channel to ask.

Also most distros have their own forums, don't be afraid to take advantage of those too.
