5.1 help

im using a 5.1 setup with the integrated realtek audio on my msi z77a-g43 motherboard. Why and how can i make music and everything play using the 5.1? some games i can hear it but i really want music to use it. I saw reading online that you can check the speaker fill option but i dont have that option to choose from. Thanks

Music is stereo (2.1). You'll have to use a software based solution like an addon for Foobar or SRS processing or something to force it to 5.1

Music is mean't to play on 2.1 or stereo sound. it doesn't use the advantage for 5.1 or 7.1 sound.

idk, find software that works to do that. I wouldn't know since I never bothered.

 

If you have the X540 Logitech set you can set it to 'matrix' mode

 

otherwise you can try something like SRS sandbox or something.
