Its a mSata SSD you plug them into a motherboard that has a mSata connector for caching hdds.

Or use it as a storage drive :)

It's an SSD in the newer mSATA form factor, rather than a 2.5" hard drive form factor. Some newer motherboards and laptops have the necessary mSATA connector.
