Will I be able to take full advantage of this monitor with USB-C to DisplayPort?

Hello,

I'm looking to upgrade my PC and monitor and am needing help understanding how USB-C to DisplayPort interacts with monitors. I use a laptop at my desk with an external monitor. My current laptop only has an HDMI port for display output connected to my 1080p 75hz monitor. I'm wanting to upgrade to this 1080p 165hz monitor. I found a great deal on this laptop which has a USB-C port. Will I be able to take full advantage of the 165hz refresh rate (and G-Sync/FreeSync) using a USB-C to DisplayPort cable? I've never dealt with DisplayPort or even USB-C on a laptop, so I don't really know what to expect. I had trouble finding info on this through Google, maybe because I wasn't using the right keywords or maybe the answer is just so obvious that you don't need to Google it. In any case, help would be appreciated.
