Monitor/maybe vga issue

so my pc used to be working properly.I dont know whats going on,suddenly my monitor goes into power save mode as soon as i plug in the VGA cable.If i plug out the vga cable it doesnt goes into power save mode.I can boot my pc properly tho,but the screen is dimmed,like it set to the lowest brightness,i already try numerous way to fix it by thinking it was the brightness problem but no luck with it.Hope you can help me with this problem and sorry for my bad english
