HDMI splitter/switch

Mitchy white

I’m trying to set up a rudimentary streaming set up on my Xbox series x using OBS, my cheap capture card only has got 1080p60 pass through and I want 1440p120 on my Xbox (the stream can be 1080p60) the way I thought of doing this without getting a different capture card is using a splitter. As I understand it a splitter essentially halves the signal? So I would need a hdmi 2.1 input and 2x hdmi 2.0 output? Are there any products like this about?

Yeah you can problem is it is very limiting in what you can do. I wanted to use obs as there’s a fair bit more you can do using that

Out of curiousity what are the limitations? Have you considered using the Xbox Console Companion app on your PC to stream your xbox to your PC over your local network and recording your gameplay right on your PC using OBS that way? Here is a video on how to do it. If both your Xbox and your PC are plugged into ethernet it'll be very fast and low latency to do.

edit: if you have a series x/s you may need to use this method

It’s a great idea but the windows Xbox app doesn’t allow streaming of series x/s for some reason. Thanks for trying to help me
