Cillian04

I recently built a pc and it runs loud and my mic for my podcast is picking it upin the background. I have gone into the bios and msi dragon centre and created a fan curve nd even dgusted my cpu cooler that is now running at 1200 rpm but there is no change in how loud my pc is any tips to help or even to get my mic to not pick up the sound without sacrfifising mic quality

Specs? Mic? Mic settings? Program for recording?

Reminder⚠️

I'm just speaking from experience so what I say may not work 100%

Please try searching up the answer before you post here but I am always glad to help

Try maybe using OBS to record and change the Mic settings to your likings or if your program has Mic settings use them

you can use the Nvidia Broadcast APP to remove background noise so all that comes through 99.9999% of the time is your voice.

You can download it here: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/broadcasting/broadcast-app/

You open the app, set your mic as the Source and then in your recording app set Nvidia Broadcast as your MIC and you're all set.

would this be better the nividia rtx voice

RTX voice is legacy. Broadcast App is the new one. If Broadcast doesnt work, then use RTX Voice.

Then RTX Voice is your best solution. If its not picking up your voice fully, make sure you're talking clearly and loud enough.

1st you have to determine if the PC is running hot that is why the fans are making noise. If everything is OK you can remove the most noisy fans or force them to runs slowly with something like this :

Also if you are not talking about live streams, you can edit the noise and eliminate it in audacity

Editing mic settings is a good idea but you should be able to make your PC quieter too.

I'm going to assume your CPU cooler and GPU fans are controllable but are your case fans PWM or DC controllable? Ie. In bios when you change the fan speeds do they actually change? Are you using an MSI motherboard?

What PSU do you have, some of them can be pretty loud and you can't control them.

I recntly bought a nice new EVGA PSU and it was so loud I had to return it. Took me a while to figure out it was the PSU. I opened my case, stopped my case fans one by one, stopped my gpu fans, it was quite obvious at that point it was my PSU fan making all the noise
