GPU for CAD work station

Dez45

Country: U.S.A.

Programs or workloads that it will be used for: Solidworks, Fusion 360, Cura

Other details looking to build a new work station for 3d modeling. Need good recommendation for a GPU that is powerful enough for CAD software. I read somewhere that most gaming GPUs maybe powerful enough but is not recommend for CAD due to certain reasons. Any input would be appreciated.

for anything related to 3D modeling, there are purposely made Titan and Quadro GPU's. And they are expensive af, because they have a good silicone

But that does not mean that you can't use your Gaming card for the same purpose.

In my opinion, 20 series GPU's should be enough.

and for CAD go with NVIDIA Quadro P2000 if you can find it cheaper

Main: Intel i7-10700KF, RTX 3080 Ventus 3X OC, 16 GB 3900MHz CL15 B-Die, Windows 11 Pro

Third PC: Intel i5-10400F, RTX 2080 Super Gaming X Trio, 16GB 3000MHz Timitec, Windows 10 Pro

Second PC: Ryzen 7 2700, RTX 2070 Super STRIX, 16GB 3200MHz CL15, Windows 10 Pro

First PC: Intel i5-3570, GTX 1060 Windforce, 16GB G-Skill 1600MHz, Windows 10 Pro

Hmmm Laptop: Pentium M 1.6GHz, iGPU, 2 GB 800MHz DDR2, Windows 7 SP1
