I feel like I have a weird need and I don't really know where to look or really even how to convey what I am looking for. Generally, I am looking for a "proxy" laptop or similar device that isnt a tablet. Something I can use to remote desktop my PC, mostly on a home network, so I can have a mobile gaming solution. Something where I can sit on the couch with my fiance while she watches TV and I play games without having to sit at my desk, which is in another room.

I don't really want to give up my Desktop PC since I have a decent PC build:

  • i7-8700K
  • RTX 2060 Super
  • 16GB 3200mhz
  • 1TB NVMe SSD

Which if I was looking to get a Razerblade 15, would almost identical at the base model, with the exception of the 3060 coming out soon. I like my desktop because I occasionally use it for VR. I really wish the NexDock had a way of connecting remotely since I like the design and appeal of that device.

Should I just part out my computer to put the money toward a Razerblade or is there a comparable option?

Any guidance of any kind would be appreciated.

That is correct. Using my PC as my own version of GeForce Now to a laptop

idk about nvidia, but amd drivers can actually mirror your pc screen to phone. So it should be also possible with nvidia. Nvidia is better, right? :D wait a moment, ill find something. EDIT: seriously nvidia? why does rtx2060 drivers look exactly the same as my old GT630 drivers?

There are many network based remote access software but all introduce delay that will make you lag in games and your control would suffer.

I would say run a long HDMI to the TV and use wireless controllers but you want to be able to watch at the same time. So not possible you have to "sacrifice" something
