someone told me to do opposite!?

The p12's are better so no clue why you'd get f12's? They are pretty expensive tho normally they are around 3 pounds or so. The ssd is indeed kinda crud so just get a wd blue or mx500 ssd. What gpu would you aim for at most? A 3080 is a bit close on that psu for example.

P12's are optimised for pressure, F12's for airflow? Obviously a static pressure fan will also provide airflow, but I'm assuming there's a difference in design that makes some kind of difference else they would just have one product surely?

The p12's deliver more airflow too. It is more directed instead of going anywhere like the f12's but the p12's simply push more air.

Would this make them noisier for normal airflow purposes tho? I'm genuinely interested, I've got F12's in my MATX rig, and just ordered some P14's for my main rid for my new rad. Maybe a bit OCD of me, but I like matchy matchy lol

from Arctic's website:

There are two categories of ARCTIC case fans: P-fans and F-fans. While F-fans are used where airflow is required, P-fans work in such a way that they generate high static pressure. This makes P-fans particularly suitable for use on heat sinks, radiators or dust filters.

Isn't that more expensive than a larger wd blue?

Yeah and testing shows that the p series simply move more air so yeah more air moved = more airflow kinda as simple as that.

Sure why not was just saying that often the wd blacks are close to almost a double sized other drive.

Up to you. Speed doesn't matter as games don't take advantage of it anyways so it's up to you if for 30pounds more you want double the storage.
