Computer boots up for a split second then shuts off!

true1hart

Hey! So I changed cases and now my PC doesn't work. It powers on and shuts off in under a second. There's a red light on the back of my power supply. Before I rip out the power supply to send it back, I want to know if there's anything else that can cause this?

SPECS:

MSI Meg Ace X570 Motherboard

Corsair 1600 Watt AX1600i PSU

NZXT Kraken X73 360mm AIO

AMD 5950x

EVGA FTW3 Ultra RTX 3090

64GB G.Skill G.Skill Trident Z RGB (two sticks)

Samsung 960 PRO  1TB NVMe M.2 Internal SSD

Sabrent Rocket 4.0 2TB

Inland Performance Plus 2TB SSD 3D TLC NAND PCIe NVMe Gen 4 x 4 M.2 2280

I bought this case: Cooler Master MasterCase H500M RGB Tempered Glass eATX Mid-Tower

Possible Errors During Build

1) The Inland PCIE 4.0 NVme is new.  While installing, the M.2 screw just wouldn't act right. I had to unseat the SSD couple dozen times.

2) While screwing in a motherboard screw, I slipped and possibly hit the motherboard with my screwdriver.  But there's no visible damage.

3) While trying to install the GPU, It wouldn't go all the way in. I kept taking it in and out pushing kinda hard. Then I realize the damn heatsink of the new SSD wasn't allowing it to go all the way down.  I switched m.2 slots and GPU went in normal. I didn't hear any weird noises like I broke something.

Previous to switching cases, my computer would crash all the way to a full reboot while playing Cyberpunk.  And I think it happened once while playing Hitman 2. But other than that, it ran fine.  My thermals were excellent.

I also applied new thermal paste to the CPU.

* When I press the power button, all the fans spin, GPU led come on, RAM LED and motherboard LED lights up, but then cuts off leaving me with one red light on the PSU. I have to flip the switch to power it up again.  The power button on the motherboard is red (normal color) and when I push it, the same thing happens. There are no weird noises or smoke smell.

I didn't try shorting the PSU to test it.

Is there anything I possible could have screwed up while building?  All the power cables are tight on both motherboard and PSU. I used the CPU power cable for the top connectors.

Did I just get unlucky and my PSU died?  Good thing Corsair offers 10 year warranty.

Please help!  Thank you!

Try to boot the build outside the case. It could be such that your new case is shorting some pins on your mobo causing it to switch off.

I will recommend an NHu12s (or an NHd15 (maybe)) for your PC build. Quote or @ me @Prodigy_Smit for me to see your replies.
