So, I bought all the components to recreate the build Linus did in this video:

With a few exceptions:

1- The case is a Matrexx 50 instead of a 55. In the video Linus builds with a 55, but the link in the description led to a 50 and only noticed after placing my order...oh well

2- I could not find a RTX 2060 but I was able to score a 3 month used GTX 1660 for 450$ CAN (Newegg just got a shipment they sell for 759 plus tax CAN$)

3- For storage, I got a Samsung 970 EVO Plus m.2 256GB SSD for system install and a 860 EVO 1TB for normal use.

I have not built a system in 15 years but eagerly waiting for all the parts to arrive to start the build.

My questions (sorry for all the blablah):

What settings should I be looking to adjust in BIOS, memory, GPU in order to get the most out of my rig?

Is there anything I should be doing to my system SSD drive before installing Windows on it...again, to get the most performance out of my system?

Should I look for updated pilots for the BIOS and GPU once Windows has installed...or will the pilots be up to date?

Anything else I should do to get the most performance out of my new build?

Thanks!

The only bios adjustment you might need is memory. Depending on the motherboard, the most likely setting is enabling XMP.

If the system is connected to the internet Windows can update itself once installed.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
