heey guys after 4 years  i wanna upgrade my pc a bit with replacing  cpu and motherboard.

i currently have:

i7 950 @4.1ghz

asus p6x58d-e

Corsair Dominator-GT 2000mhz 18 gb

inno3D GTX 780 ichill

 

i wanna go for an ROG Maximus formula vi  and an i7 4770K is it worh it or should i wait for 2 more years

 

im whas a couple of years out of the hardware  stuff is the 4770k that mutch faster as the  i7 950 ?

budget of 600 with the motherboard an processor im around  €540 (euro)

mmm it might be in that case but what are you using it for? gaming editing rendering etc

You're planning to OC that stuff? You need rendering for video etc? The CPU is overkill for gaming alone

realy then i will wait for the new  stuff :P hehehe  if ddr4  is released this year  and  new  processors   :)

i render some stuff  for my dad  autocad   2/3 t a week  so thats why i go with an i7 becouse my olde one becomes a bit slow now :P

and i stream some games to twitch

and i stream some games to twitch 

 

and i heard a lot of new stuff is coming out this year

id say go with the 4770k because the stuff that comes out later in the year is going to cost allot more because its new

 

few motherboards to look into that might be a good starting point

gigabyte z87x ud3h ud4h and ud5h

asus sabertooth or the ROG series if your budget can fit it

msi gaming series or mpower

 

basically any of the above boards will be good and cost effective

i did look for some boards but the maximus formula vi  looks so good :P and it fits good with my ram sticks  ( black with red )   thx for the help all  :D
