So I got a 3070 I play 1080p (for now) and I have been getting 145 FPS at max settings cause of bottleneck with my 8700 non k I was gonna upgrade to a 10700k on the first day I got the card I did two games of apex and got 145 it was fine but today when I was playing I have been getting drops like mabe even to 110 FPS like it would be 145 then there would be a lag and the FPS would drop I whanted to know if it’s cause if the bottleneck or just a bad problem with my card that I should return it

 

 

can bottleneck cause lag cause on the first day it did not do that but know it’s does and every time the lag happens it has big FPS drops

No a bottleneck can’t cause lag but it can cause frame drops and overtime as games get updated they can become less optimised for example csgo has become less optimised as time has gone on and this can cause frame drops

At this point dont get the 10700k since the 11th gen comes out in march, in case you didnt know. Even if you still go with the 10700k at that point the price will go down due to 11th gen launch
