I don't know why it's doing this, and all of the USB ports work just fine with all my other devices... but the moment I plug in this iPhone it continuously flip-flops showing that the device is connected to it's disconnected.. I'm only having this problem with the iPhone none of my other devices act this way.

This is happening with both the usb 2.0 and 3.0 ports, as well as front panel and rear IO... I don't know if it has something to do with the bios options for the usb or not..

MoBo ~ Asrock Fatal1ty Z87 Killer

Case ~ NZXT Phantom 530

Any help would be awesome... later tonight I'll see if my android phone does the same when it's plugged in but I don't remember it acting this way...

Do you have another Apple 30 Pin cable to test it with?

Edit: Or try the cable on a different cable.

I have 3, and all 3 work fine with the power adapter, and they also work fine with my mothers mac... It seems to be isolated with my computer.

Step one: get rid of iPhone.

I mainly use it for music now, and I'm not one to just chunk out working tech lol

Step two: Don't follow step one.

Step three: Upgrade to iPhone 5s ;)

Lol I don't really need an upgrade, it's out of my budget right now so I'll stick with this one

@Icyinferno

When you say it flip-flops, do you mean showing up in iTunes or actual charging halts and starts?

It will show up in itunes and that it is charging, then it will show that it isn't connected to the computer and not charging. best way to describe it is when I plug it in it vibrates and will show the charging bolt, then the bolt disappears, and the cycle repeats... sometimes it doesn't show in itunes because it cycles through really fast... like it's continuously vibrating and acts like it's just connecting/disconnecting from the computer

Do you have any usb apps on your computer such as supercharger or anything similar?

If so remove it and see if it helps. Otherwise ensure you have all drivers up to date.

drivers are up to date, and I didn't have a supercharger or anything similar, however I installed Asrocks "appcharger" and it seems to have fixed the issue for now... not 100% certain though

You can also try uninstalling your Iphone drivers and reinstalling them.

This was the first thing I started with. As I stated in the post above yours it seems to have fixed for now by installing the appcharger, however I don't know if that really has anything to do with it.
