Icyinferno's Achievements

  1. Congrats on the achievement! I found Linustechtips/Linus Media Group upon my initial interest in building a gaming PC. One I found the build guides I became hooked and regularly watch the videos posted.
  2. I would have to say the brushed aluminum and the IPS display are my favorites about this laptop.
  3. I doubt that it is a genuine cable from apple, I got this one from amazon some time back. it does charge fine with the wall adapter and plugged into her mac I've also tried this, however it did not effect the outcome
  4. I could only record what was happening with the iphone so I plugged in my ipod... which is jailbroken with whited00r... so it only looks like ios7. I don't own a powered usb hub, or for that matter a usb hub in general.. could it be the power supply maybe?.. which I would find odd and doubt since it's less than 6 months old, is 650w and I don't have any issues with it powering the rest of the system, I'm really thinking it may just be a defect in the mobo
  5. lol no, I have an ipod touch 1st gen and an iphone 4... and I've tried all of the usb ports with these devices/cord same thing happens.. almost thinking it is an issue with the mobo... I am able to plug in both the ipod and iphone into her mac using the same cable that I'm using with my system.
  6. I thought that too, however I can use the same cable with my mothers mac and there is no issue at all...
  7. Hoping someone will be able to help me with this... Whenever I plug in either my iphone or ipod into my computer it does as shown in the video... it doesn't show up in itunes or anything.. windows does install the apple mobile device drivers but it just continues to do the same thing.. I've uninstalled the drivers for the devices as well as uninstalling the controller drivers and re-installing them however no dice.. I'm clueless as what to do now.. another symptom I have noticed is with my micro SD card reader (http://goo.gl/n08ROU) works fine in my rear IO but not in my front panel usb ports (works in both 2.0 and 3.0 in the rear) but in the front IO it is listed as unknown device. my regular USB pen drives work in all the ports...(any help figuring out how to fix that issue would be awesome as well because it is a pain to get behind the tower to plug that little thing in) and no problems with my mouse, keyboard, or blue snowball.. I've done everything I know to try to fix it but I'm lost. please excuse my run-on post, just typing as my mind tries to process my thoughts and it's not 100% clear right now...
  8. This may not be the case at all, but I know from experience with a few cable companies that they will only activate the service on one line. IE. I have the modem connected in my room but, if I were to take it to another room and hook up to a different coax the modem would indicate no internet... I have been able to get around this by going into the attic to swap around what cable goes to what outlet, I'm not sure it would work the same with DSL, so you may need to make a service call to have something like that done. OP mentioned that the modem was connected upstairs, and that he wanted to move it downstairs.. Which could mean that he would likely need a pretty long cat6 cable in order to do that.
  9. Lol, Alright I'll give that a go.. Pesky Microsoft why you gotta be so difficult!
  10. not sure if that makes a difference or not.. I have Home and student..
  11. I assume mircorsoft decided to update office, I'm fine with that BUT for the past few days I've been getting the pop up to notify me that it was updated multiple times throughout the day. Screenshot of the pop-up box that I keep getting... Also if anyone knows how to shut it up that would be great
  12. This was the first thing I started with. As I stated in the post above yours it seems to have fixed for now by installing the appcharger, however I don't know if that really has anything to do with it.
  13. I've been told that ferrite cores can solve this problem... I've not tested it myself, however here is a video that supports this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5ruAZ4Useg
  14. drivers are up to date, and I didn't have a supercharger or anything similar, however I installed Asrocks "appcharger" and it seems to have fixed the issue for now... not 100% certain though
