Raw speed is one thing, but if you are dropping packets left right and center, you're gonna have delays.

This is a quick and dirty way to test, though there are better ways to test this stuff

I downloaded pingplotter, although I have no idea what to do with it or what to look for. I also did the test, here's the results. https://gyazo.com/97b678d64ff7737f134489bff6f0c4f9

Most of any applications I start are nearly always instant, and this was never really an issue until it suddenly was.

I've tried reinstalling the applications that do this, restarting my computer, clearing all of the local files it leaves behind, restoring to before it started to happen.

I'd like to clarify that this does not happen with all applications, only some.

I'm a roblox developer, so the specific issue is both the client and the studio client. This also happens with Gyazo.

I've noticed that they just run in the background for approx. 30-60 seconds to start as a background process.

All of my other applications work fine, and same with any games that I play.

Here are my specs:

Ryzen 1700x (Stock cooler/overclocked 3.925ghz)

Corsair Vengeance 16gb 2666mhz

EVGA 1070 SC (overclocked)

for the storage drive these applications are located on:

Patriot p300 m.2 NVMe ssd

Also, I've done multiple checks on ping and internet speeds, seems fine.

Any feedback is appreciated.

So rather than closing the applications when not in use, what about just minimizing them instead?

The issue with that is, taking screenshots takes way longer to load, you can't simply just leave the application open. Same with the game itself, it launches the client for each instance of the game place. Studio is the only thing I can keep open that you're talking about, which I already do.

Have you checked the health of your application/storage drive? And what did you use to check it with?

Suggestions? This m.2 is brand new, got in literally last month, but I can still check it.

DiskGenius. Use with care, however, the UI is...not that great, but they offer a sector by sector scan of a drive, and it will tell you what's up.

I'm assuming you are using Win10?

I am using win 10, apologies for marking as solution, was an accident. I assume I use "Verify or repair bad sectors"?

Correct, do a verify only, if you have bad sectors, it'll tell you, but not do anything. Just report back what it finds.

Ok, so it's not your storage.

These applications that are slow to start up, do they require online connections, or can they be run in local mode?

All three of them require online connections. Just to clarify (I should've said something earlier) Gyazo the application itself starts no issue, and takes the screenshot, it just takes a long time to send it to my browser. I'd also like to say that I did reinstall google chrome, which did nothing. Studio launches as an application and connects, while the normal game itself is joined from the browser. So it seems it's connection based potentially, because of studio not being browser related I wouldn't say it was that.

Sorry, I somehow missed this.

With pingplotter, pick a website to ping, like www.google.com and see if you get any red bands like here:

https://www.ittsystems.com/pingplotter-review/

or here
