Hello today I finished building my new PC. It wasn't a smooth process lol but I finally got through it and I was able to turn on my pc and update all my drivers and ect. After I did all of that I unplugged everything and put my old hard drive from my old pc.(My new build is also using a new ssd). The problem is I am not able to access my users and when I try to search an application that I had on my old harddrive it doesn't show up in the windows search.

If your windows is on your ssd you cannot access applications previously installed on the HDD.

I will recommend an NHu12s (or an NHd15 (maybe)) for your PC build. Quote or @ me @Prodigy_Smit for me to see your replies.

You would have to boot to the HDD and clone it on the HDD onto the SSD.

If you have installed Windows on the new SSD, it will now become the C: drive and the other drives will be mapped to other drive letters and that will cause some confusion in the system due to absolute file paths.

Great I will try that tomorrow morning. Is there anything I should be cautious about or be aware of. Also do you know any good resources/tutorials that show the method you are giving me?

If possible take a complete backup of your HDD and then try the process. Also, make sure to have a spare computer nearby for troubleshooting.

maybe the application can't run on your new build, eventhough windows 10 support older application, maybe it just a file corruption in your hard drive

No , I am pretty sure that isn't the issue because I can go on my harddrive and open the application. My problem relates to the solutions that were given by the other people who commented on this thread. I need to clone my hdd onto my ssd so I can boot into my ssd like if it were my hdd.

for thatb thing idk how to do it, since you need to make 3 partition first in your ssd and then copy your file
