I'm at a loss, I have had no luck finding help on my own. I'm a big fan of the show/channel and was hoping to get some straightforward guidance for a PC problem. I have a Pre built PC I Buy Power or Cyber Power. However, It's a Geforce 1060, I7 7700, 16 gigs 2400hz DIMM memory, 3 SATA drives, and a Prime H270-Plus board.

My problem. I usually run two monitors an ASUS display with displayport and an old TV with HDMI. Lately I have been having a problem where my mouse starts to lag like crazy then the PC either stops being responsive, or the screen goes black (cursor still visible). I tried making sure all drivers were updated, virus software was good, and done a Scannow in CMD, and replaced display cables. My own board graphics seems to not work for some reason, so I haven't been able to test the GPU. I have ran the Heaven benchmark software though, and it seems to be okay.

Besides buying a new computer or throwing new parts at the wall, I don't know what I could do. It simply runs well until it doesn't.

please describe this more

is it like for ex: 10 minutes after you boot up your computer? Just tell us what exactly you are doing on this computer when that's starts

Sorry for the delay. No it seems to be if its idle for a random amount of time. For instance if i'm watching Youtube after a while I move the mouse, and the mouse stutters. Then computer won't respond to mouse or keyboard inputs. Sometimes It comes around, but other times it goes to a black screen with just the cursor.

Try to subclock components ( CPU, RAM, GPU ) one at the time until the system is stable. When the system is stable you know what component is at fault.

I'll have to give this a try. Never done it before, but I should be able to figure it out.

I just went in and set my max CPU usage to 90%. I'll give this a go for a bit. I have afterburner ready to go to adjust the GPU.

Edit: I knocked down the GPU clock -60 so far, and haven't noticed any change. I also limited its power usage to 90%

Edit: I dropped the ram from 2400 to 2266, and no dice. Left the GPU at previous settings too. With my CPU being a locked one, I don't think I can do anything besides adjust the max and min usage through the power options.

I have been trying to be more observant it seems to be less than 10min of idle time before the mouse lags. However, as long as i move it around that time it corrects and all is good.

Edit: I noticed that when watching Youtube I get network lag too i.e. the video tries to buffer.

hmm

we have 2 options

1.something wrong with hardware

2.something wrong with operating system

option 1: I would check every component. First temperatures, then run some tests and watch them. Run memory test, drive test [check SMART], GPU tests

but for me looks like its option 2

2.the easiest way is install another windows on different partition/drive just for test and see if U have still the same problem

Could you also start a computer >log into the system > and as soon as the mouse lags starts press ctrl +shit + esc a take a screen shot please

I have the feeling that something could be running in the background and killing your components

I'll get a screen shot posted shortly. I did try and go in and do a Windows reset, but it failed. It got stuck at a please wait screen, and after a restart it said it failed.

Edit: here is a shot from shut starting up, and setting on the desktop. image.thumb.png.ec4a601f70dc0826d139532d48e97617.png

Edit: Here is the other after setting idle. I noticed the CPU usage shoots up due to the Service Host: DCOM Server Process Launcher.
