The different USB shapes are only physical differences, the USB ports will all have the same latency

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Why not just use BlueTooth? I use my XBox One controller with BlueTooth, and it's just fine. In fact, I put my BT adapter on the pass-through port on my keyboard, so it's physically as close as possible to the controller when I'm using it, and it doesn't take up any valuable ports on my hub or the back of my PC, while still being completely out of the way.
