Hello!

I just built my first PC, and the VGA error light is illuminated. The graphics card is plugged in properly, fan is spinning when the machine is on, and still the error shows. There are no ports for the GPU to be plugged into the PSU (like modern GPUs have). Also, (I think this is related to the GPU), the monitor is not picking up anything (The displayPort is plugged into the GPU).

If anyone can help, Thanks!

Also, here's my part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rYn88J (The graphics card is the EVGA 1050 ti Phoenix, not the 3080 that is listed there.)

The VGA error light means its probably to do with your gpu. If you got your gpu second hand it could be youve been scammed with a dead gpu. Try plugging your monitor into your integrated cpu graphics on the motherboard and see if you can get into the bios and windows that way and continue troubleshooting with the gpu

Thanks for the response.

I purchased my GPU a couple weeks ago sealed from Micro Center, so I don't think I got a dead GPU. By plugging it in to the CPU graphics, do you mean that I should connect the PC to the monitor through the motherboard using HDMI rather than DisplayPort on the GPU?

Thanks!

Yes try booting while plugged into the motherboard HDMI slot that should let you get to the bios and windows using the CPU integrated graphics. Then you just need to figure out why your 1050ti isnt working, maybe try reseating it.
