So, for the past couple of months of so I've been having strange issues with my file explorer on Windows 10. Sometimes when I right click for the context menu, it takes abnormally long, like literal minutes long, which is strange for being on an nvme ssd. Also, when I copy, paste, or move files and folders I have to manually refresh for the change to show up. Last, and most annoyingly, it will just freeze for no reason when I try to do stuff sometimes (I say 'stuff' and 'for no reason' because it isn't a consistent behavior as far as I can tell). And it will also freeze when I try to upload files to any website. If I drag and drop, file explorer will freeze and crash, to the point where I have to restart my PC. If I use the 'open' pop-up prompt window and find the file that way to upload, it will just not do anything when I select the file.

I have restarted my PC many a time, the behavior doesn't appear to be affected by doing this. Sometimes the random freezes thing won't happen, but the file uploading freezes pretty much are always a thing. I suspect my Windows installation, and if this is the case I believe that what may have happened is that my external HDD is failing and slightly corrupted, and that plugging it into my PC might have corrupted some background bit of windows. The HDD is absolutely failing, that part is confirmed, but corruption spread thing might be a stretch, but it's my best guess.
