Well AMD used to have a program where you could message them with proof of purchase and get a loaner CPU, but I believe that it currently only applies to 500 series motherboards at the moment. You could reach out to their support and see if they will lend a processor, but likely not.

This motherboard lacks a BIOS flashback feature so you are required to use a compatible CPU to access and update the BIOS.

I'm a bit confused on how to update a bios on a new motherboard. I know that if you have an old motherboard, you just use that old cpu, download the files then update it what about newly bought motherboards? For example, say i buy a b450m steel legend this year (released last year, intended for 3000 series), how do i update it so it recognises my ryzen 5 5600x?

The exact same way. You put a compatible CPU inside the motherboard, you download the BIOS file from the motherboard vendor's website, and you follow the flash instructions in the manual.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad
