Planning to upgrade... what should I upgrade first?

Avocheeseado

Budget (including currency): £400-550

Country: UK

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:

This is my current Build:

Hi. Recently, my PC hasn't been getting my desired frame rate in some games. Not by too much, but enough to notice. I am also interested in playing with Ray Tracing which mine is not really capable of. I am aware of the stock issues with both Nvidia and AMD but am not planning to upgrade until next year around March/April time.

The 2 things I plan to upgrade is my CPU, to a Ryzen 5 5600 - non X (when and if that is released) and my GPU, to an RTX 3060ti or 3070 depending on how much money I have available at the time.

I suppose I am asking whether you think these are worthy upgrades and am wondering which one I should get first? As my 2600 will probably bottleneck a 3060ti or 3070 and my 2060 will probably bottleneck a 5600.

Thanks for your help, sorry this was quite long!

I'd say they're worth yes. I went from a 3600 & 2060 Super to a 5600x and 3070 FE and I'm getting over 50 extra fps at 1440p. I was shocked at how much of a difference it made.
