First ever pc build

Go to solution Solved by RONOTHAN##,

I'd probably run a slightly higher end CPU than a 10400f, or just drop down to a 3060ti. It would probably work fine, but it's just one of those things that would bug me personally. As for RAM, B460 does not support any higher than 2400MHz, so buying a kit that has speeds higher than that is pointless (purely software, intel bad guys and all that). The only thing I might change would be the PSU to something 750w and higher, just because you said you wanted a little "future proofing," and anything better than a 3070 would need a 750w PSU minimum. If you don't want to upgrade your GPU ever, the 600w should be fine (my personal philosophy is for any build with a budget of more than $500, get a PSU with the minimum wattage of the highest end GPU on the market at that time, than way in a few years you can buy that card for an extra bump to your performance for relatively cheap).

Hey guys this my first time building pc I’m trying make one for now update games and some future proof too. Can guys tell me if this is all compatible with my parts and will I get good performance for 1440p 144hz ? . https://pcpartpicker.com/user/1080gaminglive/saved/

What would be better Intel Core i5-10400F 2.9 GHz 6-Core Processor ?

I was going to say an i5 10600, but I didn't realize the prices were so much higher on them. Honestly, for this price range, I would go for an R5 3600, as it has a better upgrade path and a better feature set.

This is what I would run. Though, if you live near a Microcenter (if you don't then disregard everything else I'm about to say), you can get an i7 9700k for $200, as well as a motherboard for it for $100 and a cooler for $30, with a $20 bundle discount. This will crush it in every scenario, and if you can get this, do it.

Some AMD B450 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Matisse CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions. Says that ?
