Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I want to be able to play all the next gen titles like cyberpunk, at 1440p and higher refesh rate,  I also want to be able to play with VR

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): This is a Build from scratch. I would like to get a matching set of peripherals, and dual 1440p monitors with higher refresh rates. I would prefer to have the boot drive be nvme ssd and ssds for the main stoage as well.

so it might either be a wide screen or lower res for dual or tripple monitors, if you want higher refresh you need that FPS.

So it really depends on what you want out of it, 1080p is easier to run if you are going for 2-3 screen setup for games.

If you are just going to use one for games, then higher res might be good (but then you are running two 3090 in SLI for dual 4K) *sweats*

I only play to game on one monitor at a time, and I don't need 4k, 1440P should be fine I think

Why spend that much on a gpu if you don't go for 3090s in sli
