Just got a WD Black m.2 nvme ssd and every time i plug it in i get no POST. I think its swapping from my SATA boot drive to the NVME which has nothing on it. Ive gone through my bios and set my sata drive to be no1 boot but it still switches. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Im using a Samsung EVO Sata ssd and a ASUS B450 Prime mobo.

EDIT: My issue was a bios update was needed. If you’re having the same issue make sure to just try it.

No post is weird.  Posting shouldn’t have anything to do with drives.  Implies there may be something quite wrong with that drive. Like a short or something.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Its royally confused me, there shouldnt be any issue with it right? everything else regarding drives has been plug and play

You should be able to plug it it and have it post.  If it’s messed up the drive might not appear but it shouldn’t interfere with posting. Post doesn’t check drives. Does the thing throw a code when it fails to post?

For anyone who finds this and has the same issue, my fix was the updating the bios Even though I had done it not so long ago.

thanks for the help and hope this can help someone else in future.

Might have been corrupted or misLoaded the first time then
