While playing certain games my new PC turns off after ~10-20min. I cant start my PC immediatly after the crash. I have to turn of the PSU, wait a few seconds, turn on the PSU, to start the PC again.

This strangely doesnt apply to every game. PUBG, Planetside 2 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider crashed, while BG3 and Cyberpunk dont, even after playing for several hours.

All of those games utilizes 100% of the GPU and 50 - 100% of my CPU.

It looks a lot like the Power supply cant keep up, but i would like to confirm that or test my other components before buying new parts.

The fact that Cyberpunk, which stresses my system the most, doesnt crash makes me believe that something else might be wrong.

Specs:

  • AMD Ryzen 5 3500x
    • at stock speeds
    • I did use the Auto-OC setting in Ryzen Master while playing Cyberpunk, but turned it off after PUBG crashed the first time
    • i plan to upgrade to a 5900x once i find one at a reasonable prize
  • ZOTAC GeForce® RTX 3090 Trinity
    • at stock speeds
    • latest Nvidia driver well almost v460.79
  • 32GB 2X16 CORSAIR VENGANCE LPX 3600MHz
  • ASUS TUF Gaming B550M-Plus WIFI
    • Chipset: latest version 2.09.28.509
    • BIOS: Version 1401
  • Samsung 970 evo 500GB (Boot drive, PUBG, Cyberpunk)
  • KINGSTON A400 SSD 1,92 TB (All other games)
  • LC-POWER LC1000 V2.4 1000W (80+ Platinum)
  • Windows 10 Home 64bit

What i already tried/looked at:

  • Temps are fine, CPU under 70C, GPU at 76C while gaming
  • Running the RAM at lower speeds -> didnt help
  • Stresstesting:
    • Using AIDA64 CPU/GPU/Cache and RAM testing -> ran for 1h15m without crashing so it seems stable
    • Used Powermax to stress the system even more -> ran fine without crashing, though i only ran it for like 10 min
  • Micorsoft error code just shows a kernel power error
  • Using MSI Afterbruner i set the Power limit to 75% (~260W instead of 350W according to HWInfo), still crashed
  • According to my meter, the system + Montiors + Router consume around 600W while playing Cyberpunk, sadly i cant measure peeks with it
  • running the games at lower settings/limit the fps -> seemed to work (only tested this in Planetside 2), but honestly isnt the solution for my problem
